Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

When you feel stuck, overwhelmed or don’t know where to turn, a phone call with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) consultant can be a good place to start.

The EAP, provided by Cigna, lets you connect with licensed mental health clinicians 24/7. Telephone consultations can help you deal with issues like everyday stress, work, mental health and well-being, substance use, relationships and family, managing grief or a loss. The consultant can help you with coping strategies and tools, recommendations, resources and referrals if needed.

Wide Range of Services

In addition to unlimited telephonic consultations, you and your household members can take advantage of:

  • Six face-to-face counseling sessions per issue per year, with a counselor in your area. Video-based sessions are also available to fit your busy schedule.
  • Legal assistance: 30-minute consultation with an attorney, face-to-face or by phone.
  • Financial: 30-minute phone consultation with a qualified specialist on topics such as debt counseling or planning for retirement.
  • Parenting: Resources and referrals for childcare providers, before and after school programs, camps, adoption organizations, child development, prenatal care and more.
  • Eldercare: Resources and referrals for home health agencies, assisted living facilities, social and recreational programs and long-distance caregiving.
  • Pet care: Resources and referrals for pet sitting, obedience training, veterinarians and pet stores.
  • Identity theft: 60-minute consultation with a fraud resolution specialist.

For managers: The EAP offers consulting on employee behavior and performance concerns, workplace safety and violence prevention, wellness seminars and other resources to share with your team.
